Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has declared that all disadvantaged Nigerians and those who are having a hard time making a living are his supporters.

This was remarked on Wednesday by the former governor of Anambra State when paying Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State a visit at his private residence in Abuja.

Obi continued by saying that his political structure is made up of the five million unemployed people and the 100 million Nigerians who live in poverty.

He said: “I have said it before when people talk about structure, that my structure [is] the 100 million Nigerians living in poverty. That’s five million people unemployed.

“Those people who are finding it difficult to live. Nigerians are here today spending over 100% of their money on feeding, that is my structure. And above all, the most important structure is the Almighty God.”

Despite having a sizable social media following, Obi’s presidential campaign has come under fire for being disorganized in real life, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

In addition, it has been said that the former governor of Anambra has little chance of winning the 2023 presidential election because he lacks widespread popular backing.

According to Obi, the ongoing failure of the national grid reveals the shortcomings of the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.

Around noon on Wednesday, the national power grid went offline for the sixth time, leaving the entire country in the dark.

Obi responded on his Twitter account on Thursday, writing that the current administration’s ongoing failure to fix the power sector is a strong argument for a change in leadership.
