LATEST: Seven-Storey Building Collapse In Lagos, Six Trapped

At Oba Idowu Oniru Street in the Lekki neighborhood of Lagos State, a collapsed seven-story structure has six people trapped underneath it.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the seven-story structure was still being built when it collapsed early on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

No injuries were suffered in the event, according to a situation report by Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

However, the head of LASEMA announced that efforts were underway to free people who were trapped and that the Lagos State Response plan had been implemented.

He said, “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an uncompleted 7-storey building undergoing construction was found to have collapsed. No injury was sustained however about six people are reported to be trapped under the rubble of the collapsed structure.

“The agency’s heavy-duty equipment excavator will be required for the rescue of the trapped victims. We have activated the Lagos State Response plan. Operation ongoing.”
