Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has stated that character, capacity, and competence will determine the results of the general elections in 2023.
Following a meeting with the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, Obi told reporters in Ibadan on Thursday that the 2023 elections will not be determined by a candidate’s background in ethnicity, religion, or connections.
He clarified that the elections will be based on a pledge to begin acting morally, to protect, to unite, and to foster cohesion in the nation.

He pointed out that some of Nigeria’s problems were a result of the nation’s political space becoming commercialized.
“The money that they are sharing is why there is joblessness in the society.
“That is the money that should have been used to do what is right; to improve human capital; to invest in education and in health,’’ he added.
