The Lagos State Police Command’s directive not to conduct a protest at the Lekki toll gate was defied by supporters of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, hundreds of young people are protesting police directives by conducting the Independent Day rally near the Lekki toll gate.
Recall that Anaedoonline.ng said a court order had been issued telling Obi’s supporters not to stage their rally at the Lekki toll gate.

According to reports, some Labour Party members were spotted marching through Apple Junction, Festac, and nearby neighborhoods in the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos.
A coalition of support groups called “Take Back Naija” claimed that the Federal High Court in the state did not halt the March because they had been given permission to carry it out.
At a press conference on Friday, the group’s coordinator, Martins Udegbunam, said that the court had ordered Obi’s supporters not to congregate at the tollgate but rather to proceed through the gate.
The group used the occasion to extend an invitation to everyone to participate in the march at any of the three places throughout Lagos: Festac, the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, and the Arch Bishop Vin Church, in Ikeja.
