Goodluck Jonathan, the former president of Nigeria, along with 43 other well-known Nigerians will receive service awards on Friday from President Muhammadu Buhari.

Anaedoonline.ng has learned that the event is still going on at the Presidential Villa’s conference room in Abuja.

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, along with 15 other governors, Ahmad Lawan, the president of the Senate, Femi Gbajabiamila, the speaker of the house of representatives, and other service leaders will receive accolades at the event.

The Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service was established to recognize outstanding achievements to Nigeria’s citizens, government, local community, or state via leadership, service, or humanitarianism.

The recipient must be a living public official or private citizen who continuously excels in a particular domain of influence, be of strong moral character, and be at the forefront of service and innovation.

To Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed national honors on a number of Nigerians and foreigners.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the occasion took place at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja. This comes after the release of the final list of candidates for numerous prestigious awards.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the updated list now has 447 names, seven of which are foreigners.
