Anglican Diocese of Nnewi has dismissed reports that the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Chukwuka Obi was attacked by unknown gunmen yesterday, Sunday, 23rd October, 2022.
In press release by the Administrative Secretary of the Diocese, Ven. Chukwunonso Arinze, noted that although the media crew of the Diocese was attacked by unknown gunmen, no casualties and abductions were recorded.

Ven. Arinze admitted that the vehicle used by the media team was badly damaged, while one of the media team members was shot, although he is stable.
He however dismissed the report in some quarters that the Diocesan Bishop was involved in the attack, noting that the report is fake.
