A family source who spoke to Newsmen about the tragedy said the three-year-old died in a family’s private pool at their home in Lagos.
“The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital,” the family source said under anonymity to await an official statement. “By the time they rushed him to Lagoon Hospital it was already too late.”

Davido was reportedly traveling to the US at the time of the event, according to a different family-friendly source. Chioma was thought to have left the infant with a female domestic helper before traveling to Ibadan.
A different musician, Dapo Oyebanjo, D’banj, lost his son two years prior to this incident when his son drowned in the same manner in the family swimming pool.
