Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the leading Igbo sociocultural organisation, has criticised the Federal High Court’s Justice Inyang Ekwo’s quick decision ordering Senator Ike Ekweremadu to lose his 40 landed estates.
In a statement released on Saturday, Ohanaeze said that it stands on moral probity to assert that a hurried exparte motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on a man who is going through some difficulties in the United Kingdom violates moral principles and the principles of natural justice.
According to the Igbo apex authority, Ekweremadu ought to be given the chance to defend himself on his properties and, if found guilty, should undoubtedly suffer the penalties.
