Rabiu Kwankwaso, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has made a condition that could force him to withdraw from the 2023 presidential campaign.

If the party obtains a stronger candidate, the former Kano State Governor says he is willing to withdraw from the contest.

Kwankwaso stated that he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s next President, but believes he is the best candidate for the post.

He also accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Nigeria’s ‘unpalatable’ predicament, claiming that 2023 is a chance for Nigerians to alter the narrative by voting.

“I am willing to step aside if the NNPP gets a better candidate but for now, I am the best there is and that is why I am working tirelessly to ensure that we win the elections and give Nigerians a better representation,” Kwankwaso said.

According to Kwankwaso, the APC has exacerbated Nigeria’s difficulties since entering office in 2015, but Nigerians now have a better choice in the NNPP.

With him in charge, he has given Nigeria new hope.

“The APC has even proven to be worse than the PDP. All is not well in the Northeast, where the government claims it has defeated insurgency. The people cannot move about freely, even in the Southeast. Nowhere is safe again,” he said.
