According to Senator Mohamed Ahmed Makarfi, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigerians are unhappy despite having abundance of resources.

The former governor of the State made his observation while accompanying Isa Ashiru, the PDP candidate for governor of Kaduna State, to a meeting with Christian clergymen affiliated with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Muslim Ummahs, and the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU). He urged Nigerians to come together and free themselves from their current situation by voting the ruling party out of office in the 2023 elections.

The former governor enjoined Nigerians to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the Kaduna State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Isa Ashiru into office next year.
According to Senator Makarfi, “Any party that does not respect the nation’s diversities, particularly religious differences, must not be allowed to rule the country or State.”

He reiterated that there is so much frustration in the land and the only way to bring it to an end is to get it right on the first ballot, adding that deceit was used in the past but it cannot work again in 2023.

He also opined that APC strategy is to divide people on various grounds, saying that now religion was being used but Nigerians must not fall for it.
