JUST IN: Again, Unknown Gunmen Raze Another INEC Office In Imo

A few days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Ebonyi State was set on fire by unknown attackers, another INEC facility was destroyed.

Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, announced the development on Sunday.

Okoye stated in a statement that the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Sylvia Uchenna Agu, reported the occurrence, which occurred during an attack in Oru West Local Government Area.

He said, “Overall, this is the 7th attack on our facilities in five states of the federation in the last four months.

“Once again, the commission expresses its concern on the consequences of what appears to be a systematic attack on its facilities across the country on the conduct of elections in particular and electoral activities in general.”

He claimed that the attention of the state’s security officers has been directed to this most recent occurrence for examination.
