Tems Shortlisted For A Golden Globe Award

Openiyi Temilade, better known by her stage name Tems, is a Nigerian music icon who has achieved a new professional milestone by being nominated for a Golden Globe.

The Essence singer has received a nomination for the Best Original Score in a Motion Picture Golden Globe in 2023.

Tems was nominated for Best Song for “Lift Me Up,” a song from the blockbuster Marvel film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” together with superstar Rihanna, composer Ludwig Göransson, and director Ryan Coogler.

Sharing the news via Twitter on Monday, Marvel Studios congratulated the collaborators for the prestigious nomination.
“Congratulations to Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson for their Golden Globe Nomination for Best Original Song! #WakandaForever #GoldenGlobes,” the tweet read.

An excited Tems also reacted to the news by expressing her joy over the recognition, “My God!! this one is too much,” she wrote.

Tems is without a doubt one of the most prominent Nigerian stars for the year 2022.
