As the campaign for the 2023 presidential election heats up, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will win by a landslide in the Southwest.
According to the ruling party’s National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke, the APC will take control of all six states in the region.
Kekemeke told reporters in Akure, Ondo State’s capital, that discord inside the APC in the run-up to the 2019 elections caused the party to lose both Oyo and Osun states to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Kekemeke, who termed the PDP’s victory in the two states as “one chance,” emphasized that the APC is now one huge family in the region, indicating its willingness to secure a large number of votes for Tinubu.
“We had an unprecedented outstanding governorship victory in 2020 because the factors that militated against our success in those states in 2019 were no longer in place.
“So if they talk about 2019, a good sense of simple arithmetics should make them remember Ondo 2020. They are holding on to 2019 but have forgotten the 2020 elections.”
Apart from the fact that Tinubu is from the Southwest, the APC National Vice Chairman believes Tinubu is the best qualified of all the contenders vying for the country’s top post.
