The veteran actor Ebun Oloyede, also known as Olaiya Igwe, has been called before a disciplinary panel by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) because of a video showing him praying in his underwear for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, to win the 2023 election.

Social media went crazy about this since so many people didn’t find it friendly. TAMPAN was mentioned on social media, and the actor’s Instagram page was flagged.

His account was also deleted by Instagram for breaking its nudity and profanity policies.
The union then requested that the actor appear before a disciplinary panel to address the reasons for his action.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, TAMPAN executive and actress Rose Odike mentioned that Olaiya Igwe had been asked to go before a disciplinary tribunal to defend himself, but he has yet to do so.
She said, “He has the right to support whoever he wants to, but we have the moral justification angle. We are looking at the morality behind that advert (video). It is not about who he is supporting. It is about him breaching the code of ethics of our association and industry.”
