2023 Elections: Ex-lawamker, Shekarau Resigns From APC

Hon. Hassan Adamu Shekarau, a former lawmaker who served the Birnin Gwari/Giwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has left the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of next month’s general election (APC).

The former lawmaker from Kaduna State stated in a letter dated January 3, 2023 and made available to Newsmen  in Abuja on Wednesday that she was leaving the party for personal reasons.

While he expressed gratitude to APC supporters in Kaduna State for their prior assistance, it was unclear whether he would switch to the PDP.

Part of the letter read: “This is to convey to you my decision to resign as a member of the All Progressives Congress with effect from 3rd January, 2023.”

Remember that Uba Sani, a senator from Kaduna Central Senatorial District, is the APC’s candidate for governor while Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State, is in the second year of his second term, which ends on May 29, 2023.
