Naja’atu Bala Muhammad, a Director in Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign in 2023, has resigned.

She was the Director of Civil Society in the ruling All Progressives Congress’s Presidential Campaign Council (APC).

The resignation of Naja’atu, 67, comes just one month before the presidential election.

In 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed her to the Police Service Commission as a Commissioner (PSC).

Naja’atu lamented the situation of the nation in her resignation letter to APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu.

The lawmaker stated that current political and democratic events make it hard for her to continue participating in party politics.

“The challenges that Nigeria faces today require me to continue championing the struggle for a better country with a clear conscience as I remain absolutely loyal to Nigeria”, she noted.

The activist said in a statement on Saturday that she quit the scene because her ideals and convictions no longer coincided with party politics.

Naja’atu stated platforms have no ideological differences and are “robes that politicians wear to fulfill their personal demands and ambitions”.

Citizens continue to confront instability, poverty, inequality, and a lack of access to essential services, according to the statement.

According to Naja’atu, the problems necessitate the coordinated efforts of competent and patriotic leadership at all levels of government.

Hajiya Naja, as she is affectionately known, exhorted Nigerians to be “conscious of the ramifications of their decisions and choices” ahead of 2023.
