Sheik Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic cleric, has stated that he is not surprised by the claim that some persons in Aso Rock are working against the presidential ambitions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, Bola Tinubu.
In an interview with Channels TV, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai claimed that some forces in the Presidential Villa are conspiring against Tinubu.
The governor further indicated that groups working for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, do not want Tinubu to win the February 25 election.

Gumi told Newsmen on Friday that El-words Rufai’s did not surprise him because of President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership style.
The priest recalled that the governor of Kaduna stated for four years that he saw no need to travel to Aso Rock since good and practical advise is not accepted.
According to Gumi, Governor El- Rufai’s unwillingness to visit Aso Rock, as well as his recent statements about Tinubu’s presidential ambition, demonstrate that there is something wrong with Buhari’s leadership style.
He said: “He (El-Rufai) said for four years he didn’t see any need to go to Aso Rock because good and effective advice is not accepted. That shows there is something wrong with Buhari’s style of leadership.

“When you see a leader fighting his disciples and they are running away from him, then you know there is a problem with the leadership style. A leader should be able to mobilise, redirect and use people to effect a change.”
