2023: This Is What Will Happen In Rivers During Poll – Asari Dokubo

Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader, has forecasted a probable outcome in Rivers state during the next 2023 presidential election.

In a video clip shared on social media on Sunday, the 58-year-old stated that he expects inhabitants of the state and significant political stakeholders to vote ten times for the same candidate, implying that there will be no problem in Rivers State during the election.

Remember that the general elections in Nigeria will begin on February 25, 2023, with the election of the President, Senate, and House of Representatives.

Speaking ahead of the election, Asari Dokubo said: “We will not have problems during the Presidential election in Rivers State because almost all of us are on the same boat.”

According to news reports, Asari has subsequently declared his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Earlier, the former insurgent pleaded with the Kalabari Kingdom in Rivers State and the Ijaw people to vote for the former Lagos Governor, bragging that he had good credentials to secure the Niger Delta.

Asari and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike are not known to be great buddies; yet, rumours abound that the duo is leaning toward Tinubu for the position of President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.

According to news reports, Wike has not publicly stated his preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 election; nonetheless, he has directed his advisers and all local government chairmen in the state to endorse Tinubu.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor is spearheading five disgruntled opposition governors, including himself, in a ‘war’ against the party’s national leadership.

Wike has previously stated his intention to boycott the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
