The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Abeokuta Branch, has a significant security presence.

In the early hours of Monday, police officers deployed operatives at the Apex bank branch in Okelewo, Abeokuta, to deter potential criminal attacks.

According to intelligence reports, some individuals may attack the bank due to their inability to get the freshly redesigned naira notes.

According to news sources, armed police officers were stationed at strategic spots to maintain law and order.

In addition, some commercial banks in Abeokuta blocked access to their facilities for fear of being harmed by enraged customers.

Customers at most banks are only permitted to use Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) rather than visit the banking halls.

Similar attacks were reported in various sections of the country last week, according to reports.

Meanwhile, people are still waiting in long lines to withdraw money from ATMs.

According to news sources, the paucity of fresh naira notes is reportedly harming businesses and other activities in Ogun State.
