Meanwhile, Dayo Ekong, chairman of the Labour Party in Lagos, said on Monday that Obi attempted to pay a courtesy visit to Lagos’ Oba, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, but was told by the palace that the monarch was unavailable.

Speaking about Obi’s campaign rally and the criticism leveled at the former Anambra governor for failing to pay a visit to the Oba of Lagos, Ekong revealed in an interview with Arise TV that they were told the monarch was unable to receive him.

Asked why Obi did not visit the Oba, Ekong said, “People should not say what they have no information about. Peter Obi respects culture. He visits traditional rulers in every state before going to campaign.
