Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), was defeated in the recently ended elections by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to news reports, the result of the election was read by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Yakubu Mahmud, at approximately 4:05 a.m., after the Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, and State Collation Officer of Election, SCOPE, from the 36 states and the FCT had presented their results and reports.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu won with 8,794,726 votes, beating out Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who finished second and third, respectively.

Tinubu congratulated everyone who voted in Saturday’s election, especially the ‘Articulated,’ ‘Obidients,’ ‘Batified,’ and ‘Kwankwasiyya’ followers, in his win acceptance address this morning.

He said: “Whether you are BATified, Atikulated, Obidients, or Kwankwasiyya, I must thank you for working hard to straighten our democratic system.”

Following Tinubu’s victory, Newsmen spoke with a top adviser to Peter Obi about the Labour Party’s candidate’s future steps.

According to our source, Peter Obi is preparing to formally address Nigerians on the outcome of the presidential election.

When asked if his principal had reacted to Tinubu’s triumph, he replied, “Not yet, but he will shortly.”
