Obidients, or supporters of Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate Peter Obi, have been mocked over the independent collation of the just ended election results.
News outlets learned that Obidients had organized themselves to independently aggregate results and demonstrate Nigerians that the LP flagbearer had won the presidential election on February 25.
The Obi supporters, led by one Mark Essien, with the Twitter handle @markessien, claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and Election Result Viewing Portal (IReV) were not used, and that true election results from different polling units across the country were not uploaded on the portal.

According to report, after compiling results on an independent IReV with the support of other Obidients, Essien’s initial set of results showed Obi in a clear lead, further justifying their argument that their candidate was allegedly cheated out.
The trouble began hours later, when the results indicated that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered more votes than Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) combined, putting him in the lead against expectations.
With the situation, several Obidents turned on Essien, accusing him of working for Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai rather than Obi’s cause.
However, the results of the independent IReV portal were eventually barred from public view, eliciting outrage from Twitter users.

Festus Keyamo, the Chief Spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, insulted Obi supporters over the outcome of the presidential election results collation on Friday via his Twitter account.
He wrote: “The Labour Party cry babies who earlier claimed Obi won were computing uploaded results & when they saw that @officialABAT was leading with many of his strongholds not yet in, they quickly discontinued & said they will show the results at the end. TALK ABOUT LIVING A LIE!”
