Tinubu’s Cabinet: El-Rufai, Ganduje Top List Of Contenders For SGF

Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State are the two top candidates for the office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in the new administration.

The names of the two-term governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been forwarded to President-elect Bola Tinubu, according to Vanguard.

According to an anonymous source, the option of el-Rufai as SGF is being assessed against that of Ganduje, who has been a close supporter of the president-elect.

The positions of SGF, Senate President, and Speaker are expected to be discussed during Monday’s closed-door meeting of the APC leadership and the party’s National Assembly members-elect at the State House in Abuja.

The allotment of roles will be thoroughly reviewed at the meeting in order to secure everyone’s commitment to establish a united front before the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly in June.

Meanwhile, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, is being considered for the role of Tinubu’s Chief of Staff (CoS).

According to media reports, the sixth-term legislator is set to give up his seat in the 10th assembly to take the top job in Tinubu’s cabinet.

According to reports, Gbajabiamila was first considered with former Lagos State governor and Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, who may be handed another portfolio in Tinubu’s administration.
