After an American drone was shot down by Russian fighters over the Black Sea on Wednesday, Moscow’s ambassador to the US urged Washington to halt “hostile” flights close to its border.
Ambassador Anatoly Antonov posted on Telegram, “We assume the United States will refrain from further media speculation and stop aircraft near Russian borders. “We view any use of American weapons in an action as overtly hostile.”
The US military described a Russian fighter jet’s Tuesday manoeuvre as “reckless” after it dropped fuel on an American drone over the Black Sea before crashing into it.
