The Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) declared on Monday that it will welcome the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Lagos, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, if he chooses to return to the party.

According to news reports, Jandor quit the APC for the PDP in January 2022.

In the recently ended Lagos gubernatorial election, he received 62,449 votes and finished third, while the APC governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, received 762,134 votes.

Speaking to journalists, Hon. Seye Oladejo, Publicity Secretary of the APC in Lagos, said the party cautioned Jandor not to embark on a failed mission because Lagosians would reward Governor Sanwo-Olu with their votes, but he rejected the warning.

He said, “Of course, we will welcome him back with open hands. We told him then to reconsider his move and return to the fold but he ignored the warning. Now that he has learnt his lesson in PDP, we will still open our doors to him if he finds his way back”.

For us in Lagos APC, it is the more, the merrier. Our doors are opened to anyone who wants to join our great party and our performing Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in consolidating on his ongoing projects and significantly advance the journey towards the Greater Lagos initiative”.
