The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has proclaimed Alex Otti, the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Abia, as the winner of the March 18 South-East geopolitical zone election.
Otti, a former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, received 175,467 votes, defeating his closest competitor, Okey Ahaiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 88,529 votes.
Prof. Nnenna Otti, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Technology, Owerri, was pronounced the winner by INEC’s Returning Officer (FUTO).
