The Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has praised the party’s leadership for pledging to return the nomination and interest form cost to the family of a deceased aspirant from Imo State, Chief Humphrey Anumudu.

According to news reports, the deceased, Humphrey Anumudu, purchased the party’s governorship interest form for N25 million.

Regrettably, the governorship hopeful died last week Friday in his Lagos home after returning from the party’s meeting at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

This was disclosed by the chairman on Tuesday at a meeting with the party’s National Assembly-elect members in Abuja.

On Wednesday, Obi thanked the party leadership for agreeing to return the form’s fee to the deceased’s family via his verified Twitter profile.

He also praised the party for agreeing to return N10 million to each governorship aspirant who paid N25 million for the governorship form.
