Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, is currently the subject of a police investigation after it appeared that he was texting while operating a vehicle.
The Norwegian striker, 22, was reportedly using the gadget while operating a £300,000 Rolls Royce. The incident took place in New Islington, a Manchester neighborhood near the Etihad. Later that day, he was seen driving the same vehicle.
The day after scoring five goals in City’s 7-0 win over Champions League rivals RB Leipzig, he was reportedly seen using his phone while driving on March 15. The incident’s video wasn’t made public until Monday night.
The Greater Manchester Police has now confirmed he’s being investigated. A spokesperson said, “I can confirm that GMP is aware of the image and is investigating.”
