Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for Lagos State in the recently ended gubernatorial election, has stated that Kayode Salako, the former chairman of the party in the state, suffers from Bipolar disorder.
Newsmen recalls that Kayode Salako’s wife, Foluke Daramola, said last week that Rhodes-Vivour had sidelined her husband after he was given the party ticket.
Kayode, who resigned in January 2023 to focus on competing for the Oshodi Isolo Constituency 1 seat in the House of Representatives, was accused of colluding with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Since the governorship election, Kayode and Rhodes-Vivour have been at odds verbally.
In response to the claims against him, Rhodes-Vivour declared in a tweet on Tuesday that he would not engage Kayode in a verbal brawl since he was under the effects of his mental health problem.
He wrote, “I am very empathetic when it comes to mental health conditions and I do take it very seriously. As a result, I will not be responding to Kayode Salako because I know for a fact that he is Bi-Polar.
“Sadly, this condition is used by others to manipulate him for political gain. I wish him well and hope he gets the medical attention he needs”.
