According to news reports, the statement had ramifications during the just ended governorship election in Lagos State.

Nevertheless, during a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the convener of SIAPRO, Uche Diala, stated that Lagos State is “no less Yoruba land as Anambra State is Igbo land and just as Lagos is not a no man’s land, so is Ebonyi State.”

He urged Yorubas to forgive whatever provocations, disrespect, or insults they may have received during the just finished elections in the state.

Diala stated that any opposing viewpoint is reckless, inflammatory, and unacceptably harmful to societal and national progress.

According to him, Igbo have long been renowned as honorable guests who contribute value to their hosts in a symbiotic connection and have never been known to be a burden to their hosts in Nigeria or anywhere else in the globe.

He observed that nowhere in Nigeria is the link of friendship, deep integration, and overall success more pronounced and lasting than in Lagos State.
