Nigeria Science and Technical College, Nnewi are the new champions of 2023 All Secondary School Football Champions. The champions defeated Okongwu Memorial Secondary school to win the male category.
The boys from Otolo Nnewi defeated Okongwu Memorial Secondary school 4 goals to nil at the playing pitch of Anglican Girls Secondary school. Two goals at both halves of the game unsettled the cup favourite ( Okongwu Memorial Secondary school).
The game which served as the crescendo of this year tournament was worth its billing , as thousands of fans that came to watch the finals went home excited with the quality of play from both teams and the individual performances from players, especially Kenechukwu Nwafor, the hit man of Nigeria Science and Technical College.

Just like the male category, the female category produced new champions, as last year’s runner’s up, Vision High school defeated hard fighting Girls Secondary school Nnewi ( Anglican Girls) one zero to become the champions.
Government Technical College Ichi, Ekwusigo local government defeated Christ the Way Secondary 2-0 to win the Male third position in early kickoff of today. Christ the Way Secondary School , female team had on Tuesday secured the third position after failing to defend the title they won last year , the team defeated Nnewichi Community Secondary 3-2 to secure the third position.
Kenechukwu Nwafor and Chinaza Igwemadu scoped the most valuable player awards in the tournament for the Male and female categories respectively.

Speaking on the outcome of the tournament, Mr Okwudili Nuel, a coordinator and sports consultant , described the tournament as a success. He appreciate the great effort of his team lead by Mr Chidiebere Obichendu who made everything possible that this year’s tournament the talk of the town, he appreciated the efforts of the schools and the students who gave their best. “Our major aim of this championship are being achieved as we have awaken the near dead school sports in Anambra state starting from Nnewi and beyond, many schools have shown great interest to feature in future engagements, talents has been spotted and plans are on going to place them in good football Academy where they will be nutured, We are open for cooperate sponsorships and partnerships he concluded.
