Israel’s Flooding Has Left Two People Missing

According to police, two persons are still missing after severe flooding in southern Israel as a result of excessive rain.

The Muslim holy month of Ramadan overlaps with the Jewish Passover and the Christian Easter, thus the emergency services said that they had increased operations to rescue vacationers trapped by floods at a busy travel time.

Since Monday, rivers have flooded near two important north-south routes due to heavy rain and strong winds, and several roads are closed close to the Red Sea resort of Eilat.
So far, some 60 individuals have been saved, some of whom the police claimed had “been swept away in their vehicles.”

Two people are still missing near one north-south highway highway in the Negev desert.

A woman earlier reported missing was found to be safe.
