Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Secretary, has described his victory in the party’s Imo State governorship primary contest as divinely arranged.

During Wednesday’s primary election in Owerri, Anyanwu emerged unchallenged as the PDP Governorship flagbearer.

During the election, he received 802 “yes” votes.

Speaking to reporters after the exercise, Anyanwu emphasized his absolute submission and adherence to God’s will.

Anyanwu asked party supporters and the people of Imo to “let God finish what he has begun.”

“It’s with humility and the greatest sense of responsibility that I accept this divinely orchestrated nomination,” Anyanwu said.

He continued, “I’ll work with you and for you.

“I thank the Almighty God for his infinite mercies and I thank the leaders of our party in Imo for working hard to set the process that has brought about my emergence in motion.

“I pledge to pursue an issue-based campaign that would usher in a people-oriented government.

“Together, we shall achieve the Imo of our dream,” he said.
