by Victor Ndubuisi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, congratulated Nigerian workers on Workers’ Day, which was celebrated today, May 1, 2023.

The former governor of Anambra State urged his employees in a letter to them that was made accessible to Naija News on Monday to uphold the principles that boost national productivity.

Obi urged Nigerian workers to view their occupations as opportunities to contribute to nation-building, emphasizing that if the populace realized that the mission of nation-building is for everyone, the country would expand and develop further.

He stated that Nigeria is blessed with a hardworking workforce that is eager for the country’s progress and has continued to toil despite not caring about the wellbeing of the country’s poor employees.

He said: “I encouraged the workers not to be disheartened by the many challenges that, today, pervade the economic and political space of the nation.

“I also urged everyone to remain focused on building a more productive and prosperous nation, which is part of the offerings of the New Nigeria.

“I want to assure you that the forces of darkness that have held this nation bound for long, will not continue to have their way. We are determined to take back our nation for good and we are not giving up.

“I urge you all to remain steadfast. The sun of justice, peace, and development will soon shine on our nation.”
