Before a number of projects completed by the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, are inaugurated, the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, has arrived in Port Harcourt, the state’s capital.
For the unveiling of projects in the state, Governor Wike called Tinubu, who was welcomed by the governor and his entourage on Wednesday morning at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
In a state broadcast on Tuesday, Wike had proclaimed Wednesday a holiday and encouraged Rivers citizens to turn out in large numbers to greet Tinubu.
Politics Nigeria reported that the president-elect’s jet touched down at the airport on Wednesday at 10:03 am.

In Wike’s entourage were members of the National and State Assemblies, local government chairmen, and government appointees.
Supporters of the governor were also present at the airport to welcome the president-elect, as they were allowed into the tarmac area under strict security control.
The president-elect will be hosted later in the evening at the state banquet.
