While the Nigerian film industry was still in mourning after Saint Obi’s departure, Murphy Afolabi, a well-known Yoruba actor, passed away on Sunday.
Veterans in the Nollywood industry and Afolabi’s coworkers verified his passing on Sunday afternoon by using their various social media platforms to express their sorrow.
According to news sources, Afolabi passed away just a few days after celebrating his 49th birthday.

1 – On May 5, 1974, Murphy Afolabi was born.
2 – A week after his 49th birthday anniversary and on Sunday morning, May 14, 2023, he passed away.
3. Afolabi allegedly stopped breathing after falling in the restroom and died naturally.
4 – The actor from Nollywood is from Oroki Asala in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
5 – Afolabi earned a diploma in theatre arts and film production from the Osun State Polytechnic in Iree and graduated in 2001.
6 – Afolabi Olamilekan, Afolabi Fathia Moyosore, and Okikiola Afolabi are his two sons and one daughter, respectively.
Murphy Afolabi started performing when he was a small child. Under the tutelage of seasoned actor Fasasi Olabankewin (Dagunro), he launched his first professional acting career in 1998.

According to Newsmen, the actor starred in a number of Yoruba movies, some of which he also directed. Omo Rapala, Omowumi, Blackout, One Blood, Mafi Wonmi, Idera, Osun the Goddess, and a host of other artists are among them.
He was a well-liked producer who had a number of movies to his name before passing away on Sunday.
