David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, revealed why he gave away his performance at Alex Otti’s inauguration as governor of Abia State.
Remember how Davido entertained a crowded Umuahia hall with some of his great songs when Otti and his deputy, Ikechuckwu Emetu, were sworn in by Justice Lillian Abai, the Chief Judge of Abia State?
However, the singer’s actions had led some of his fans to question why, as an A-list artist, he chose to perform for free for the Abians. Many people had hypothesized that he had enough money for the performance before getting on stage.

In response to the reports, Davido said via his Twitter account on Monday night that he had known the Abia governor all his life and was confident in his ability to uphold the interests of his constituents.
He continued by saying that he received no payment for the performance.
His Tweet reads: “Not a dime. I’ve known his excellency all my life and i am sure he will do well for the people of Abia state.”
