Karim Benzema, a striker for Real Madrid, has received a staggering €400 million offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabian team.

The two-year, €400 million agreement would give the 33-year-old French Ballon d’Or winner, who was born in Algeria, full ownership of his image rights.

In addition, the agreement would make Benzema an ambassador for the nation prior to a future World Cup bid.

On June 30, 2024, Karim Benzema’s Real Madrid contract will end, and it appears that the player is no longer interested in representing the White Angels. Nevertheless, there are rumors that he and Madrid have reached an oral understanding over a contract extension.

The Frenchman can thus quit the club whenever he likes, whether it be this summer or this winter. However, unless he and Madrid agree to mutually terminate his contract, any team that wants to sign the talented striker this summer or in the winter of 2024 must pay Madrid for his services.

Reports in Spain reported that Benzema, a former international for France, had notified Real Madrid of the Saudi Arabian offer despite the uncertainties surrounding his future. It’s interesting that the Spanish powerhouses are open to letting him leave if he accepts the Saudi deal.

Benzema, 66th Ballon d’Or Winner, Asserts That Anything Is Possible

Even if the Frenchman hasn’t made up his mind, renowned sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio of Spain said on Wednesday, May 31, that the Saudi club is working diligently to complete Benzema’s deal on Thursday and there appears to be no turning back.

The Frenchman had a difficult 2022–2023 season due to injuries and his performance. Nevertheless, with 18 goals and 3 assists in 23 games, he has made a substantial contribution to the team’s triumph in all competitions.

Due to the significant gap that Karim Benzema’s departure will leave in Carlo Ancelotti’s team, Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen have been mentioned as prospective replacements. In the midst of that, the team might choose for a less expensive attacker this summer before signing a greater star in 2024.
