Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Advocates For Unity In PDP

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has asked PDP members to settle their disagreements and work to bring the party together.

This request was made during a retreat for elected officials that was conducted this past Saturday in Bauchi, Bauchi State.

In response to the recent infighting that took place during the general elections, Governor Makinde urged party members to put polarizing matters aside.

Sulaimon Olanrewaju, his chief press secretary, stressed the need of maintaining harmony within the party in the statement that he made in Ibadan.

“Well, I want to point out that we went through a gruelling election, and whether we want to admit it or not, we had issues amongst ourselves during the elections,”

Governor Makinde explained. “But, you know what? The healing process has to start and it must start now.”

He urged the party to put its attention on cooperation and innovation. Assuring party members that PDP governors are “willing, ready, and able” to stabilize the party, the governor gave the assurance.

Governor Makinde concluded by urging his audience to remember their duty to the country, saying, “Government will come and go, but our country will stay. Additionally, as a responsible opposition party, we must act in the best interests of the nation when necessary.

Plans should be flexible enough to fit the chance at hand, not rigidly waiting for an opportunity to match a plan, he underscored.
