Sokoto Gov Condoles With Bandits Attack Victims, Donates cash

Ahmed Aliyu, the governor of Sokoto State, visited the three communities that were assaulted by bandits last Saturday on Tuesday.

The Sultan of Sokoto, the leaders of the state’s security services, and the governor’s deputy, Idris Gobir, were all there.
During his visit, the governor spoke with the locals and denounced the attacks as senseless and ungodly, telling them that his administration would not relent in reestablishing law and order in bandit-infested areas.

He advised the locals to disclose any potential informant hiding among them and work with the security personnel stationed nearby.

He however donated cash and grains to families of those who lost their lives during the attacks as well as those who lost their properties.
He also assured that his administration will pay the medical bills of those admitted to the hospital because of the injuries sustained during the attacks.

THE PUNCH reported that over 30 persons were killed in three villages in Tangaza local government area on Saturday. The attackers also burnt down houses and vehicles in the communities whose offences were their refusal to pay levies imposed on them.

The governor was accompanied by the former governor of the state and the leader of the APC in the state, Aliyu Wamakko, while the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, led other traditional rulers.
