Former Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka has reacted to the emergence of the National Assembly’s new leadership.

According to news sources, Akpabio defeated former Zamfara state governor Abdul-Aziz Yari in a hotly contested election on Tuesday to become Senate President.

Tajudeen Abbas, who represents Kaduna State’s Zaria Federal Constituency, was also elected Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.

Chidoka responded on Twitter, lamenting the exclusion of Igbos from administrative, legislative, judicial, and party offices in Nigeria.

He wrote: “NASS Inauguration: Again, the South East is not heading any Executive, Legislative, Judicial or Party leadership positions in Nigeria”

Meanwhile, the Lagos State branch of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has warned that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa,’s proposed new property and company ownership legislation could destabilize Nigeria.

According to news reports, Obasa said during his inaugural speech at the 10th Lagos Assembly that specific laws pertaining to economy, commerce, property, and titles will be put in place to defend the interests of Lagos indigenes.

In response to Obasa’s statement on Monday, the state’s President of Ohanaeze, Chief Ogbonna Aguene, told The Whistler that such legislation can bring problems for both the country and the government.
