Hilda Baci’s effort to break the 100-hour world culinary record was surpassed by Nigerian chef Damilola Adeparusi.

In the wee hours of Tuesday, the cook from Ekiti tweeted about her latest accomplishment.

A few weeks ago, Baci made news when she broke the previous global cooking record of 87 hours and 45 minutes, which had been set by an Indian chef named Lata Tondon in 2019.

However, the Guinness World Records (GWR) has not yet formally recognized her attempt.
Adeparusi and her coworkers were shown in a video celebrating her 100-hour accomplishment. Adeparusi is aiming to set a new culinary record of 120 hours.

Dami who is a 300-level FUOYE student commenced the cooking marathon on June 9 and has since become a viral sensation.

Her attempt has also sparked different reactions from social media users.

While some users lauded her courage and initiative, others criticised her for alleged plan to undercut Baci’s attempt.

Yemi Oyebanji, the first lady of Ekiti state, commended the chef and described her efforts as a show of determination and courage.

Baci also declared her support for her, quashing rumoured rivalry between them.
