Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned Southeast lawmakers about the senate president election today, Tuesday.

Primate Ayodele has cautioned that if Senator Godswill Akpabio is elected, it will be a smack in the face to the Igbos, who have long been marginalized in the country.

In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the priest said Akpabio’s presence would make no difference in the Senate and would not support Nigeria’s democracy in any manner.

Primate Ayodele argued that if the Senate President must be a Christian, he should be a Southeast politician rather than a south-south politician.

According to Ayodele: ‘’If Akpabio emerges as the senate president, it will not make any difference in the house. The house will not be democratic as expected.

“Bringing in a Christian senate should be Igbo’s turn, not a south-south person. A south-south emerging is a slap to the Igbos.’’

Furthermore, Primate Ayodele warned Nigerians to be watchful and prayerful as he foresees troubles that won’t be explainable.

‘’I still see troubles ahead, we should be prayerful and watchful. Something is about to happen that will be unexplainable. Time will tell,’’ he said.
