AbdulRasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has been suspended indefinitely by President Bola Tinubu.
This comes after serious allegations of misuse of office were leveled against him.
Bawa was told to immediately hand over his office’s business to the Commission’s Director of Operations.

Bawa’s suspension was based on serious allegations of abuse of authority, according to Willie Bassey, Director, Information, SGF office, announced on Wednesday.
“Mr Bawa has been directed to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation,” the statement read.
