Next week, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu will attend the Global Financing Pact Summit in Paris, France.

This is Tinubu’s first official travel as Nigerian president since his May 29 inauguration, according to top presidential insiders, who also claimed that the president’s journey was also a “strategy” to see his team of medical doctors.

“BAT is to attend the Global Financing Pact Summit in Paris, France, next week. This will be his first official trip outside Nigeria since his assumption of duty as President,” one of the top sources disclosed on Saturday.

“The trip is to check his health too. It is a strategy to go to hospital,” another source noted.

“He is returning to France to see his doctors ahead of the stress of the inauguration period so he can prepare for his swearing-in,” a top source in the ruling All Progressives Congress had told Newsmen.

Tinubu was believed to have visited Lagos on May 1 to recuperate and see some of his doctors who had arrived in the nation to provide him with follow-up medical care.

It was learned that certain members of the medical team that treated Tinubu in France were in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, to provide the ‘President-elect’ with follow-up care, which is the care given to a patient after completing treatment for an illness.

This entails keeping track of a person’s health after therapy.

Tinubu had previously returned to Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory of Abuja following weeks of medical treatment in France.

Despite the fact that his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu was on vacation in France, SaharaReporters exclusively reported that Tinubu became unwell following the March 18 governorship and State Assembly elections and was transported to France for medical treatment.

Despite the denials, Newsmen alleged that Tinubu’s illness was so serious that he couldn’t speak for five days while being treated in a foreign hospital and had to be intubated.

Intubation is a process used to help save a patient’s life when they are unable to breathe.

A healthcare provider inserts a tube into a patient’s mouth or nose and down into the trachea (airway/windpipe). The tube maintains the trachea open, allowing air to pass through. The tube can be linked to a machine that delivers air or oxygen.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, common causes of intubation include airway obstruction (something caught in the airway, blocking the flow of air); cardiac arrest (sudden loss of heart function); injury or trauma to your neck, abdomen, or chest that affects the airway; and loss of consciousness or a low level of consciousness, which can cause a person to lose control of the airway.

Other risks include the necessity for surgery that will render you unable to breathe on your own, respiratory (breathing) failure or apnea (a temporary cessation of breathing), and the danger of aspiration (breathing in an object or substance such as food, vomit, or blood).

News outlets also said that Tinubu’s tongue was jutting out during his critical condition.

“Tinubu’s ailment and health were in shambles before he left Nigeria to undertake treatment in a French hospital,” a source had said.

“The sickness was so severe that for five days during his hospitalisation, he could speak and had to be intubated,” another source had said.

Tinubu had a suspected peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line) placed to his upper arm while speaking to journalists shortly after his homecoming.

Images of him with the’medical equipment’ went viral on social media.

PICC is used to administer drugs and other therapies straight to the main central veins near your heart, according to medical specialists.
