The Ebonyi State Government has committed to find those responsible for the murders of Damian Okafor’s father and Emmanuel Igwe, a member of staff for the Independent National Electoral Commission.

On Sunday, Igwe was assassinated by gunmen on the Mpu/Shiagu (Ebonyi) route, and his wife, who was in the same car, was kidnapped.

Mr. Ajah Okafor, the father of the boss of the Ohanaeze Youths Wing, was murdered on his farm as he fled with the kidnapped woman.

On Thursday, Mr. Jude Okpor, the state’s commissioner of information and orientation, revealed this during his first state Executive Council briefing.

He said Governor Francis Nwifuru was saddened by the killings, which he described as ‘heartbreaking’.
