While one corps member passed away while giving birth, no fewer than two batch B stream II corps members received service extensions.

Dawut Jidda, the Gombe State NYSC Coordinator, said this on Thursday at the passing-out ceremony for 274 Corps members at the Bolari NYSC local government office.

The extension was given to the two after they appeared before the Corps Disciplinary Committee for a number of offenses, he claimed. One other person passed away while having children.
The state coordinator praised the 274 corps members who participated in Community Development Service and thanked them for their efforts in mobilizing resources to improve lives in their host areas.

He also encouraged corps members to embrace the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme to be entrepreneurs and employers of labour.

He said, “The era of white-collar jobs is far gone. Your tomorrow lies in your hands . Remember, the effort you will put into achieving your dreams is entirely your responsibility. The time to start is now.”
