Buba Galadima, a NNPP chieftain, has called on President Bola Tinubu to fire Mahmood Yakubu, the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Galadima claimed Yakubu colluded with other politicians to subvert Nigerians’ will during the 2016 presidential election.
Galadima said Channels Television on Tuesday that what Yakubu did was less than what previous Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, did before being fired.

He emphasized that the INEC chairman committed more crimes than Emefiele.
According to Galadima: “The INEC chairman must go, what he did is not up to what Godwin Emefiele did.
“He colluded with some people to subvert the will of Nigerians. He committed the greatest crime anybody will commit.”
Yakubu was accused of tainting the presidential election in 2023.
Some political stakeholders accused the INEC chairman of rigging the 2023 presidential election in Tinubu’s favor.
