The lawmaker representing Nnewi North Local Government Area In Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Sir, Augustine Onyekachukwu Ike, also known as Ikedioji has written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demanding for his intervention on controversy between the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Miss Mmesoma Joy Ejikeme of Anglican Girls Secondary School, Nnewi.

JAMB had on Sunday, 2nd July 2023 accused Miss Mmesoma for deliberately inflating her score and presenting herself as the highest scorer for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

“The attention of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has been drawn to several publications in both print and online media celebrating certain candidates for being high scorers in the 2023 UTME.

JAMB Accuse Anambra Pupil, Mmesoma Ejikeme of Faking Result, Reveals Her Original Score

“The Board is constrained to set the records straight and wishes to state unequivocally that many of the results which many of these candidates are parading are fake. In many instances, some of these candidates had actually obtained far lower scores than they are claiming and had used some funny software packages to manipulate their results to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.

“The most pathetic of them all is the case of Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who claimed to have scored 362 in the 2023 UTME and was awarded a N3m scholarship by Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma. She was even set to be honoured by the Anambra State Government when one of its top officials put a call through to JAMB to confirm her claim, only for the Board to reveal that Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma had actually scored 249 and not the 362 she claimed. She had manipulated her UTME result to deceive the public to fraudulently obtain scholarships and other recognitions.”

Hon. Ikedioji in his letter he titled THE UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT OF JAMB REGISTRAR TARGETTED AT DESTROYING THE FUTURE OF LITTLE EJIKEME JOY MMESOMA (MISS), told the President that the action of the commission registrar is capable of of making the girl go into depression, and the psychology trauma is indescribable for a brilliant hardworking young girl.

His words; “Mr. President, evidence before me shows that the sixteen years old Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma who hails from Enugu State, but resides with her parents in Nnewi and attends a secondary school in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State have remained top of her class from Nursery school till-date.

“I visited Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma on July 3rd 2023 and was moved to tears as she narrated her ordeal and visibly showed the pain of being dubbed a fraudster by the registrar of JAMB.

“This action of JAMB Registrar is capable of making the young girl go into depression. The psychological trauma is indescribable for a brillant hardworking young girl.

“Pleas kindly use your good office to direct relevant agencies to ensuring that justice is served and the dignity of the promising Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma is restored with benefits.
