As a result of a fire that broke out early on Wednesday morning in one of the university’s dormitories, there was fear on the Bayelsa State Medical University campus on Imgbi Road in Yenagoa.
According to authorities, an electric spark that occurred as a student was attempting to iron her clothes is what began the fire that broke out at 6:40 am inside the university’s female dormitory.
According to reports, when the warning about the fire outbreak went off, hundreds of students ran for cover while others removed their possessions from the dormitory.

According to reports, both federal and state employees of the Fire Services department came quickly to the emergency call. They were able to prevent the fire from spreading to more rooms in the building.
Though no life was lost, nor physical injury suffered, but some personal belongings of occupants of the affected room were destroyed by the inferno.
Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu and the Chief Security Officer, Prince Diete-Spiff, appreciated the officials of the two fire stations in the state for the prompt response.
